Will of Mary Cleasby 1845, widow and farmer of Punchard in the parish of Arkengarthdale
In the Name of God Amen. I Mary Cleasby of Punchard in
the Parish of Arkengarthdale in the North riding of the County of York widow and Farmer being weak of boCdy but of sound mind memory and understanding Thank God for the same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say First of all I will that all my Just debts and Funeral expenses be paid by my executors hereafter named and whereas I stand indebted to my son Anthony Cleasby the sum of on Hundred pounds I give and bequesth unto him the said sum of one hundred pounds I also give and bequeath unto my son David Cleasby the sum of Five pounds I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Annas Cleasby the sum of Seventy pounds and one Feather bed. I also give and bequeath unto my son William Cleasby the sum of Five pounds I also give and bequeath unto my son Robert Cleasby the sum of Five pounds I also give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Cleasby the sum of Seventy pounds and a new Bedstead feather bed and bedding belong =ing to it and any other little odd thing in the house that she Fancies to have the said several Legacies to be paid Twelve months after my decease, all the rest residue and remainder of my goos and chattels of what nature or kind so ever undisposed at my decease - I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony Cleasby and my son John Cleasby to be equally divided between them share and share alike and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Anthony Cleasby and my son John Cleasby executors of this my last Will and testament and I do hereby declare this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Forty five Mary Cleasby Her mark Signed sealed published and declared by the said Mary Cleasby as and for her last Will and testatment in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subcribed our names as a witnesses thereto John Longstaff William Alderson 18th October 1845 On which day personally appeared before me Anthony Cleasby and John Cleasby both of Punchard in the parish of Arkengarthdale in the County of York Farmer the Executor in the within written Will named and were sworn well and faithfully to execute and perform the Trusts thereof And that to the best of their knowledge information and belief the whole of the goods chattels and credits of which Testative died possessed and not not amount in value to the sum of Four hundred and fifty Pounds within the Archdeaconry of Richmond.
